EnerSys has recently announced the availability of the new Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W Front Access DC Power Systems.

Designed to replace outdated rear-access systems, these innovative solutions allow for 100% front access servicing—reclaiming up to 17.5% of total floor space in a typical 10′ x 8′ telecom shelter or central office server room. This space-saving design helps network operators house more revenue-generating equipment in the same footprint while reducing maintenance complexity.

“We’ve taken what our customers value about our legacy Cordex CXPS power systems and advanced it for today’s operational realities,” said Satheesh Hariharan, Senior Product Manager at EnerSys. “By eliminating rear access and enhancing front-facing serviceability, the Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W power systems not only streamline workflows—they help operators reclaim valuable floor space, improve technician productivity, and extend the life of their infrastructure.”

Built with real-world network constraints in mind, the Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W power systems eliminate rear-clearance requirements, allowing for tighter equipment installations and more flexible shelter and server room layouts. Operators can now replace non-productive maintenance zones with high-value hardware—including routers, edge compute nodes, and additional battery backup.

“That reclaimed space can house a full server rack’s worth of gear or help defer the need for new shelter or server room expansion,” added Hariharan. “It’s a smarter, future-ready approach to powering dense, high-growth networks.”

CXPS-W

Reclaim Space. Simplify Maintenance. Scale with Confidence.

As operators face increasing demands on shelter and server room space, thermal load, and power density, the Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W power systems offer a comprehensive response to these evolving needs:

•  True Front Access: All maintenance is performed from the front, eliminating the need for rear clearance and enabling wall-to-wall installations.

•  Reclaim Up to 17.5% of Floor Space: Freed-up shelter or service room space can now support additional revenue-generating equipment or reduce the need for expansion.

•  Faster, Simpler Maintenance: Service times are reduced, lowering labor costs and minimizing operational disruption.

•  Modular, Scalable Design: Expansion is simple, with plug-and-play capabilities that don’t require infrastructure reconfiguration.

Purpose-Built for Today’s Telecom & Broadband Networks

Ideal for telecom, cable broadband, and wireless infrastructure, the Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W power systems help operators meet growing power and equipment density demands without sacrificing serviceability or uptime.

“With energy and data demand rising across the globe, operators can’t afford to waste space or time,” continued Hariharan.” The Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W power systems redefine expectations— offering a compact, scalable, and efficient power solution engineered for modern networks.

The Cordex CXPS-HX and CXPS-W Front Access DC Power Systems are available now.
