KEBA: KeDrive D5 – Flexible and Compact
October 22, 2024
With the KeDrive D5 series of single-axis servo drives, KEBA is expanding it’s KeDrive product family specifically for drive applications with a small number of axes. KeDrive D5 is a multi-tool that can be easily integrated into your application.
As part of KEBA’s open modular automation platform Kemro X, the new servo controller for single-axis applications fits seamlessly into the company’s drive portfolio. In addition to the compact multi-axis drive system KeDrive D3 and the three-axis controller KeDrive D3-AC, KeDrive D5 is now available as a single-axis drive system that enables a wide variety of drive solutions.
The latest product in the KeDrive product family impresses with its high dynamics and precision thanks to high-performance motor control for synchronous, asynchronous, linear and torque motors. With its Ethernet-based fieldbus interface and CANopen, the KeDrive D5 can also be easily connected to 3rd party controllers. The wide supply voltage range from 24 V DC to 480 V AC makes the KeDrive D5 suitable for a wide range of applications in the low and extra-low voltage range. Various options ensure great flexibility and future-proofing – such as an encoder simulation for simple synchronization of several axes or a multi-encoder interface for position detection at the load.
For machine builders, the new single-axis controller is an interesting alternative to the KeDrive D3 multi-axis controller in applications with a small number of axes. KeDrive D5 scores points in device and apparatus engineering with its low leakage currents and compactness. On average, the new series is only half the size of the familiar ServoOne. Thanks to the integrated mains filter, the user can easily comply with EMC standards, even for residential applications.
You can experience the new single-axis servo controller live at the SPS in Nuremberg on November 12-14, at Hall 7, Booth 470.
