Pepperl+Fuchs LC20 loop detector
Pepperl+Fuchs LC20 loop detector

Loop detectors are used for noncontact activation of parking barriers and access controls, signal output for traffic lights, and control of external and industrial gates. The new LC20 loop detector from Pepperl+Fuchs offes increased functional reliability.

To ensure the optimal operating frequency, the LC20 loop detector uses automatic frequency selection to check the detector environment during installation and operation. The loop detector reliably blocks transmission frequencies that are identical, similar, or already in use. This way, even complex, multi-lane access control systems can be installed quickly and smoothly.

From scooters to trucks and trailers—the LC20 detects a wide range of vehicles with an integrated automatic sensitivity adjuster. The loop detector uses this feature to compensate for weak signals, like those from oversized or overloaded vehicles, by temporarily increasing the sensitivity to maximum power and then resetting it.

The power fail memory also makes the new loop detector from Pepperl+Fuchs ideal for sensitive applications. If there is a power failure, the sensor continues to seamlessly detect the stored parameters as soon as the power supply is restored. Users can also define a specific behavior for such cases—for example, opening or closing a barrier.

The diagnostic tool and app allows simplify documentation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of the new LC20 loop detector. Thanks to the intuitive user interface, parameters such as frequency response and sensitivity can be seen at a glance—even during installation. In addition to detailed error diagnostics, the app also visualizes short-term changes. This enables users to react to trends quickly and make appropriate adjustments.

  • Rugged, durable loop detector for reliable detection of all vehicles
  • Diagnostic tool and app: readout via smartphone simplifies commissioning and makes device easy to use
  • Changes can be visualized for simple diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Automatic frequency selection and automatic sensitivity boost simplify commissioning, even in unfavorable conditions
  • Reliable operation: fail-safe and memory backup features in the event of a power outage or loop error

TracoPower_txln_1.jpg

The new TXLN line comprises a series of metal enclosed AC/DC power supplies ranging from 18 to 960 Watt (split into 12 different power levels) and is designed for a wide range of industrial applications. The TXLN is an active replacement of the older TXL line and is built on the same design principals to make the transition to the new TXLN series as easy as possible. The model selection includes single, dual as well as triple output solutions to cover different applications requirements.

With a low-profile metal case and screw terminal block connection, they are easy to install in any equipment. Up to the 200 Watt models the TXLN power supplies are completely convection cooled and from 320 Watt and above they come with an internal fan. Above 100 Watt an active PFC (>0.95) function is added to the standard feature pool. All models in the TXLN line have universal input and comply with the latest industrial standard IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, European EMC standards and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

PBUS-35-Automation-PLCsAndPACsSimplifyData-400.jpg

Data acquisition, data logging and data analysis are required functions for most modern industrial control systems. The simplest and lowest cost way to provide these functions is often by using the same platform that’s providing real-time control—namely the PLC or the programmable automation controller (PAC).

A few years ago, this wasn’t possible as PLCs lacked the required processing power and data storage capability. But more powerful PLCs and the evolution of PACs has made it possible to perform many data acquisition tasks within the controller—saving money and providing an overall simpler system.
