Toshiba: RemotEye HMI for the Toshiba 480VDC SCiB Energy Storage System
August 8, 2023
Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) has recently released the RemotEye Human-Machine Interface (HMI), designed for the Toshiba 480VDC SCiB (Lithium Titanate Oxide or LTO) Energy Storage System (ESS).
The RemotEye HMI is composed of a seven-inch touchscreen graphic display providing users with in-depth analytics and operational details of their SCiB Energy Storage Systems.
The RemotEye HMI is a powerful computing device allowing aggregation of over 700 data points per cabinet, providing multi-level monitoring from the entire connected system, from each cabinet to each cabinet module all the way down to the individual cell. When combined with the RemotEye ESS and RemotEye 4 IoT network cards, users can monitor up to eight Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and one Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) using just one HMI screen. By allowing users to view the status of their UPS and multiple ESS cabinets, the RemotEye HMI provides a comprehensive understanding of how the entire system protects the critical load.
Before the launch of the RemotEye HMI, Toshiba SCiB ESS cabinets could only be monitored locally by viewing the LEDs on the front of each SCiB ESS cabinet or remotely via the RemotEye ESS IoT network card web application. The RemotEye HMI allows the onsite viewer to comprehensively understand the system’s operations by reviewing detailed data and graphics down to the SCiB cell level. With the RemotEye HMI, users can see a visual representation of their Energy Storage Systems’ performance.
