Phoenix Contact: BC Housing Expansion

March 20, 2025
Phoenix Contact’s expanded BC modular housing series gives building automation engineers more design flexibility. The family now includes new enclosures with Push-in connection and upper housings in more widths.
For the first time, Push-in PCB terminal blocks are available for the BC 17,8 (1 HP). The FKDSO 1,5 and FKDSO 2,5 terminal blocks make it possible to implement future-proof applications with up to 16 positions per module. The coordinated housing and connection system reduces design time for developers. The 3.5- and 5-mm pitch terminal blocks are designed for currents up to 22 A. They come in three and four positions and can easily be combined in a single upper part.
Phoenix Contact has also added upper housing parts with widths of 35.6 and 53.6 mm. These new upper housings include SPT-THR series PCB terminal blocks for convenient Push-in connection technology on the front of the housing. The upper parts have already been matched to the terminal blocks, saving valuable design time.
Every housing chamber in the BC series can be designed individually using Phoenix Contact’s online configurator. The 53.6-mm wide upper parts have space for up to 48 positions for 1.5 mm2 or up to 16 positions for 2.5 mm2. The upper housing parts are prepared for use with KNX bus. With the addition of the new upper housings, Phoenix Contact offers configurable enclosure options from 35.6 to 161.6 mm, with a height in accordance with DIN 43880.
