Bel Power Solutions: LRSA Power Supply Subrack System
April 14, 2022
Bel Power Solutions recently announced its new LRSA Power Supply Subrack System designed and used for operation in railway control centers. The system supplies redundant voltages and power for rugged railway and subway applications, solidifying its reliability and efficiency in harsh environments.
Compliant with international railway standards EN 50155, EN 50121-4, and AREMA, this series equips up to six of Bel’s 250W rugged Melcher AC-DC cassettes into one single 19” rack system, allowing for a redundant input and energy output configuration. This is an enhancement from previous AC-DC Subrack System racks, which supported room for only four converters.
The new rack system provides single or dual output voltages from 12 to 60 VCD with up to 1500 Watt output power, and a wide input voltage range from 90 to 264 VAC and 50 to 60 Hz.
Its wide-power range and fanless convection cooling design ensure high reliability and maintenance-free operations spanning decades.
“Modern railway systems demand reliable, high-performance power systems to uphold stringent safety and security requirements both onboard and at station,” said Daniel Bernstein, President and CEO of Bel Fuse. “With this new system, railway system operators can decrease outages, and operate safely and seamlessly in harsh conditions for years to come.”
The series offers high isolation of all output circuits, excellent surge and transient protection, inrush current limitation, and output voltage monitor with change-over relay contacts to provide reliable and redundant power to railway signaling and traffic control systems.
