METCASE Updates UNIMET Instrument Enclosure to Simplify Installation
May 28, 2021
Aimed to simplify installation and, METCASE has updated its UNIMET electronic instrument enclosures with improved earthing facilities. The update brings UNIMET into line with other advanced instrument enclosures in the company’s range, such as the TECHNOMET series.
With the new improved UNIMET enclosures, electronics engineers can easily fit earth cables to every panel inside the housing. M4 earth studs are now fitted on all case panels (except the base). With the base – to avoid problems with existing PCB installations – a countersunk hole (with earth symbol) is provided for fitting the earthing screw, nut and serrated washer (supplied with enclosure). An eyelet or spade terminal connection can then be used to connect the cable to the base.
Stylish and robust UNIMET is perfect for medical and wellness devices, test and measurement equipment, industrial control, peripheral devices and interfaces, switchboxes, communications and laboratory instrumentation.
These desk/portable enclosures can be supplied with or without a bail arm that doubles as a desk stand. The bail arm can be indexed in 30° increments to create the perfect viewing angle.
UNIMET features a diecast aluminum front bezel assembled to a folded aluminum case body. The fixing screws for the front panel (optional) are concealed beneath clip-on trims to enhance the aesthetics. The removable rear panel is recessed to protect connectors and switches. Inside, the base panel has mounting holes for PCBs and chassis. Each case is supplied fully assembled with four non-slip rubber feet.
UNIMET is available in six sizes ranging from 9.05” 7.48” x 1.96” to 13.77” x 10.23” x 5.90”. The standard color scheme is light gray/window gray (RAL 7035/7040). Prices start from $91. Accessories include matt anodized aluminum front panel kits, universal case feet (with/without tilting front legs), a PCB mounting kit and PCB/panel fixing screws.
METCASE can supply UNIMET fully customized. Services include custom sizes; custom front panels; CNC punching, folding, milling, drilling and tapping; fixings and inserts; painting and finishing; digital printing of legends and logos.
