Pepperl+Fuchs: Three New AS-Interface Push Button Boxes for Highest Flexibility and Safety
April 13, 2021
From material handling to logistics—in almost every industrial application, numerous push button boxes are used to control and secure processes. To expand the extensive AS-Interface system world, Pepperl+Fuchs has developed three new push button boxes for easy integration into existing AS-Interface networks: a push button box with an emergency stop button, a box with two push buttons, one in red and one in green, and a mixed box with one emergency stop and two standard buttons. The design of the push button boxes can be flexibly customized for your specific application.
Individually Configurable, User-Friendly Solution
A particular benefit of the new push button boxes is the possibility of making customer-specific adjustments. Various housings with one to four assignments are available and can be equipped with (emergency stop) buttons, key-operated switches, or selector switches. The customer is free to have the buttons printed with different symbols and to choose between illuminated and non-illuminated button elements.
Using a passive distributor, for example from the G10 ultra-compact series, the push button box can be integrated into an existing AS-Interface network once it has been adapted, thanks to the integrated AS-Interface. The connection is made via an M12 connector, which eliminates the effort of additional wiring. This simple installation method saves costs and helps avoid previously error-prone installation steps.
Rugged Housing for Highest Demands
The new push button boxes are made of a highly robust plastic housing that easily withstands temperatures of -25…+70 °C. Due to their high temperature range, the new push button boxes can be operated in a wide variety of industrial applications and, thanks to their SIL3/ PL e Cat. 4 approval, they meet even the highest safety requirements.
