Phoenix Contact: Connectors for Energy Storage

With the new plug-in battery connections, Phoenix Contact provides you with a time-saving and safe connection technology for energy storage systems. The range includes connectors for busbar connection and battery pole connectors for applications of up to 1,500 V.

Connectors for connecting to the busbar simplify the installation of plug-in systems in energy storage systems. The connectors with reverse-polarity protection are plugged onto the rear side of a storage system, eliminating the need for wiring work. The modular design allows different currents, and therefore a wide range of applications.

Cable connectors and device connectors with various connection technologies are available for the battery side. The battery pole connectors can be rotated through 360°, enabling flexible cable lengths. Touch-protected battery poles and mechanical coding ensure your safety when connecting battery poles. The audible feedback when connecting assures you that you have made a safe and durable connection.

The UT cable grommet is an U-shaped cable bushing and makes it possible to route single pre-connectorized cables as well as standard cables with a diameter range of 4 to 11 mm into enclosures. The wall thickness of the enclosure can be from 1 to 4 mm. The UT is a split grommet that can be mounted around the cable. The UT grommet is ideal for installation on the lower part of the enclosure.

Phoenix Contact USA has received a 2023 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence (GAEE) for its rooftop solar project. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection honored Phoenix Contact and other Pennsylvania companies and organizations at an award ceremony in Harrisburg, Pa., on Tuesday, April 25. The 961-kilowatt solar array went live last year. The system generates about 30 percent of the energy needs at the company’s U.S. headquarters, located in Lower Swatara Township, Pa.
