Pepperl+Fuchs: Standardized Remote I/O Field Units for Zone 1/21 Applications Now Available
February 16, 2021
Pepperl+Fuchs now combines its proven FB remote I/O system with enclosures from the innovative GR series made from glass fiber reinforced polyester. The result is a range of four standardized remote I/O field units, which offer maximum flexibility and are certified for applications in Zone 1/21 explosion hazardous environments. These new field units are equipped with plug-in slots for either 10 or 12 dual width I/O modules or for 20 or 24 single width I/O modules. Any I/O module can be inserted into any slot, enabling a combination of I/O types in one remote I/O field unit. Depending on the field unit, the fieldbus and power supply are equipped with redundant connections.
FB Remote I/O System—Trusted Technology from the Explosion Protection Experts
Users can find suitable input and output modules of the FB remote I/O system from Pepperl+Fuchs for almost all field applications in hazardous areas, such as for water flow transmitters, valve positioners, pressure transducers, or temperature transmitters. Thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), mechanical contacts, and visual or audible alarms are also supported by the FB remote I/O system.
GR Series—One Enclosure, Numerous Applications
The GR series covers a range of IP66 enclosures made from glass fiber reinforced polyester. Its unique design makes mounting remarkably easy: decoupled installation steps allow even large and heavy enclosures to be installed by just one person. The glass fiber reinforced polyester is anti-static and resistant against hard impacts. Furthermore, the UV stabilized material does not degrade and provides optimal corrosion resistance. Cable glands from Pepperl+Fuchs’ own stock complete the “one-stop shopping” experience.
