Panduit Corp. announced that it has increased its fiber and connectivity capacity in multiple manufacturing plants to serve the global data center market’s increasing demand. The investment in fiber capacity aligns to the company’s strategic growth initiatives and enhances deployment and service to its hyperscale, cloud, and colocation customers.
nVent Electric plc recently announced that Greg Scheu has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective February 26, 2021. Scheu is the retired President of the Americas region and Head of Group Service and Business Integration of ABB, Inc., a subsidiary of global technology company ABB Ltd. He served as a member of ABB Ltd.’s Executive Committee.
A customer was using several competitors’ photoelectric sensors in their packaging and material handling system. They were packing raw bulk products such as soil, cement, and dog food into a variety of containers. There is often dust and debris in these environments that settle onto the sensors, even along the long conveyor systems.

The configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2 and corresponding software tool PNOZmulti Configurator is as an efficient and safe solution at Poco Loco. The manufacture of snack products requires a multi-part, interlinked production cycle. Previously the plant sections were regarded as individual units with separate emergency shutdown circuits.
Phoenix Contact is the first company to receive a certification for a controller (PLC) in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1 ML 3 Full Process Profile in combination with IEC 62443-4-2. This confirms that the secure development life cycle was fully applied in developing the PLCnext Control devices.
Pepperl+Fuchs now supports the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) in its role as one of the founding members. This new association was established by the German trade associations ZVEI, VDMA, and Bitkom, along with 20 companies from the machine building and electronics industries. The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
