Secure and protected electrical connections can enhance equipment performance and maximize uptime, especially in demanding environments. ABB Installation Products and PFLITSCH, a global provider of cable glands and specialized cable management systems, have formed an alliance to develop advanced cable connection and protection solutions for a range of construction, industrial, production and transportation applications.

PFLITSCH selected ABB to create a combined offering of cable assemblies, cable glands, accessories and specialized protection systems that integrate into high and low voltage wiring and meet the needs of customers across automation, e-mobility, food and beverage, infrastructure, OEM machinery, robotics and transportation. The alliance brings together ABB and PFLITSCH engineers and industry specialists to broaden ABB’s existing product lines, including PMA cable and connector solutions, Harnessflex cable management systems, Kopex cable protection, and Adaptaflex metallic and non-metallic systems.

“For customers in extreme operating environments, cable management and protection solutions that enhance safety and reliability while meeting changing requirements are critical to uptime and performance,” said Matthias Heilmann, President, ABB Installation Products Division. “Working with PFLITSCH enables us to build on our broad offerings to deliver high-performance solutions that connect and protect electrical wiring, along with power and data cables across a range of industries and applications.”

Focused on continuous innovation, ABB develops cable management and protection solutions for the most challenging conditions that meet or exceed industry standards and are tested against abrasion, corrosion, stress, extreme temperatures, vibration and other harsh settings. ABB engineers and product specialists collaborate with designers, technical specification teams and other customer contacts around the world to assess needs, select the best cable protection solutions for the application, and provide training and support. Based on a customer’s sustainability objectives and application requirements, ABB and PFLITSCH will work on specialized cable protection solutions for OEM machinery manufacturers, food and beverage processing, automation and robotics, heavy-duty agriculture and construction equipment, electric vehicles, as well as buses, lorries, trucks, trams, trains and rolling stock, and other transportation providers.

“We put safety first in everything we do. Our solutions for each application area also focus on other specific requirements such as reliable EMC protection, hygiene, durability, cost-effectiveness or ease of assembly. We anticipate our customers’ needs and take them as our guiding principle when we develop innovative solutions for cable routing, cable entry and cable protection,” emphasised Mathias Stendtke, Managing Partner, PFLITSCH. “Working with the ABB Installation Products team will help to meet the growing needs of customers around the world for advanced cable management solutions, further driving the electronic revolution,” said Roland Lenzing, Managing Partner, PFLITSCH.
