Rockwell Automation: Stratix 4300 Brings New Wireless Interfaces and a New Edge
The Stratix 4300 Remote Access Router solution now has both Wi-Fi and LTE (cellular) wireless options available. These options include Ethernet only (existing product with 2 or 5 ports), Ethernet and Wi-Fi (2 or 5 ports), Ethernet and LTE (2 or 5 ports), and Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and LTE (2 or 5 ports). Phoenix Contact Acquires iS5 Communications
The Phoenix Contact Group has acquired Canadian company iS5 Communications Inc., based in Mississauga, Ontario. The provider of industrial network products specializes in services and solutions for critical infrastructure networks. Martin Müller, vice president of Phoenix Contact, says: “The expertise of iS5 Communications Inc. enables Phoenix Contact to take a leading position in the market for critical infrastructure networks and to further expand the business together.” Cybersecurity and data analysis play a strategically vital role in this field.
TE Connectivity (TE) completes acquisition of Silicon Microstructures Inc.
Measurement Specialties Inc., a subsidiary of TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: TEL), a global industrial technology company with leading positions in connectivity and sensing solutions, completed the previously announced acquisition of Silicon Microstructures Inc. from Elmos Semiconductor AG (XTRA: ELG) on Sept. 30.
Rockwell Automation: Embedded Edge Compute Module for ControlLogix
The Embedded Edge Compute Module builds on Rockwell Automation’s recent history of enabling computation functionality expanding the power of the ControlLogix platform. This in-chassis edge solution provides key scalability and remote support functions to today’s workforce. At first release, the Embedded Edge Compute Module enables FactoryTalk Optix software and provides a communication path to REST API, OPC UA, and MQTT to meet the needs of various applications.

Siemens: SIMOVAC Non-Arc-Resistant and SIMOVAC-AR Arc-Resistant Motor Controllers
The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
