AVX Corporation has recently joined the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA), the state’s leading industrial trade association aimed at advancing manufacturing in South Carolina. Comprised of more than 200 manufacturing companies that represent more than 80,000 associates in South Carolina, the SCMA advocates for its members by working to advance relevant public policies, address regulatory challenges, and provide services that help manufacturers create jobs and strengthen the state’s economy.
RS, a trading brand of RS Group plc, recently added three new suppliers to its selection of industrial automation solutions: ILME, ABB Robotics, and Madison Company. These latest additions to the RS line card further extend its portfolio of Industry 4.0 technologies, including industrial connectors, robotics, switches, and sensor products, and provide customers with even more tools to turn “what ifs” into “why nots.”
Rockwell Automation, Inc. has recently announced that Nicholas Gangestad will join the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer on March 1. He will report to Rockwell Chairman and CEO Blake Moret. Gangestad joins Rockwell after a long career with 3M, where he most recently served as the company’s chief financial officer and oversaw all aspects of the financial organization including compliance, financial planning, treasury, and tax.
Siemens Mobility was recently pleased to announce that it is acquiring RailTerm, a Canadian based transportation company that is a major provider of rail services to railroads and transit agencies. This acquisition signals Siemens Mobility’s intent to grow its Canadian business. RailTerm’s familiarity across Canada’s entire rail spectrum will allow Siemens Mobility to expand its existing portfolio with on-the-ground track and signaling, electrification and communication systems.

The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
