FANUC Demonstrates Automated Manufacturing Solutions at Eastec and Southtec

October 8, 2021

FANUC America, a major supplier of CNCs, robotics, and ROBOMACHINEs will feature factory automation and robotic manufacturing solutions at Eastec, Oct. 19-21 in Springfield, MA in booth #1714, and Southtec, Oct. 26-28 in Greenville, SC in booth #2129.

Easy-to-Use CRX Collaborative Robot

FANUC’s latest CRX collaborative robot offers the same high level of performance that all FANUC products are known for including the latest technologies and world-renowned reliability.  It supports several of FANUC’s advanced features including iRVision, and is a perfect fit for any application where collaborative robots can help customers achieve higher efficiencies.  Also, interactive programming enables users to teach points using hand guidance or a new tablet interface with drag and drop icons.

The CRX cobot is an easy-to-use and flexible solution for a variety of applications, including machine tendinginspectionwelding and more.   Built-in sensors on each axis can allow the CRX cobot to work safely alongside people without the need for expensive guarding.  In addition, the CRX can operate for eight years maintenance-free, which will help companies reduce costs and maximize productivity.

At both Eastec and Southec, attendees will be able to try the CRX Cobot’s easy hand guidance and intuitive tablet programming features.

Factory Automation Demonstrations

Attendees at both Eastec and Southec will have the opportunity to experience a new and exciting way to see part production.  Our Visual Twin demonstration highlights FANUC’s end-to-end digitalization solutions for the machine shop.  By seamlessly working with various machine tool builders as well as Mastercam and ModuleWorks, FANUC’s Visual Twin is an exact software replica of real CNC machine tools. The Visual Twin will display a virtualized 5-axis machine tool cutting a part, which mirrors the real-world machine’s behavior.

Also from the Factory Automation division, we are demonstrating the seamless integration and high performance of FANUC’s CNC and servo systems in a Laguna iQ desktop CNC router. Equipped with a complete FANUC CNC system, the display shows how well the machine, control and drives all work together to bring unbeatable value in reliability and accuracy.  The simulator may also be used for learning servo parameter setup and enhance servo motor tuning skills.

FANUC LR Mate 200iD Tabletop Robot

At the Eastec show, a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot will use FANUC iRVision to locate 3D-printed letters on a small tray, then pick and place them in random locations.  Next, the robot moves the tray to the opposite side and replaces the letters.  Finally, the robot traces each letter with a laser pointer to demonstrate ROBOGUIDE’s CAD-to-Path function.

FANUC’s popular LR Mate 200iD series of tabletop industrial robots make ideal additions to any small or medium shop looking to automate their process.  The LR Mate 200iD robot offers a “best in class” work envelope for both upright and invert mount installations. Ten models include clean room and wash proof versions, each with various wrist speeds and reaches to accommodate even the most limited workspace.  Since the LR Mate series was launched nearly 30 years ago, it has become one of FANUC’s biggest sellers, with over 70,000 units installed across the globe.

High-Speed SCARA Robot

At the Southtec show, a FANUC SR-3iA SCARA robot will use iRVision to pick up letters from both sides of a part nest, and slide them into a fixture to spell out “SR3 ZDT.”  The demonstration highlights the advantages of using FANUC’s iRVision to locate parts, and reorient them on the fly.

FANUC’s family of 4-axis SCARA robots has grown to include the SR-3iA, SR-6iA, SR-12iA, and new SR-20iA models with 3kg, 6kg, 12kg and 20kg payload capacities, and a 400mm – 1100mm reach, respectively.  FANUC’s SCARA robots are designed to help customers increase productivity in a number of industries including consumer goods, batteries and other auto componentsplasticslab automation, appliances and medical devices.

The small SR-3iA and SR-6iA SCARAs have a compact footprint and space-saving design for maximum efficiency.   In addition, the SR-3iA/H and SR-6iA/H are 3-axis variants that provide strong performance and an affordable alternative to small linear slide products.  The higher-payload SR-12iA and SR-20iA robots provide flexibility with a large vertical stroke, and an Environmental Option for harsh conditions.  All of FANUC’s SCARA robots provide excellent robot motion, speed and precision.

Powered by the R-30iB Compact Plus controller, FANUC’s SCARAs have the same intelligence and reliability that’s available on all FANUC robots, including integrated iRVision, conveyor tracking (iRPickTool), and most other software options.  FANUC’s SCARA iRProgrammer user interface makes it easy to setup and program the robot on a Tablet or PC (Teach Pendant is optional).
