Contact-free and Coded Safety Switch from Phoenix Contact
October 11, 2019
Phoenix Contact has developed its first safety sensor, a contact-free and coded safety switch designed for smart door safety and position monitoring in machines and assembly lines. The PSRswitch is capable of connecting up to 30 sensors in a series while achieving SIL 3/PLe, giving machine operators a greater level of protection with simple connectivity. The PSRswitch offers an easy RFID non-contact safety door switch system with M12 connections. The safety switch can be connected in a series with Y distributors, bridge plugs, and SAC cabling, making installation of these devices convenient and flexible.
The PSRswitch is an RFID coded, non-contact safety switch with a compact design. Integrated RFID transponder technology and intelligence ensures maximum protection against tampering and outstanding safety in accordance with EN ISO 14119. With compatible evaluation units and SAC cabling, Phoenix Contact provides a cost-effective, complete solution for flexible safety door and position monitoring for the digital factory.
The PSRswitch provides safe series connection of up to 30 sensors, comprehensive IO-Link diagnostic information with the PSR-MC42 safety relay, and maximum protection against tampering with three RFID encoding levels. Encoding levels are here and ready for approval.
