B&R’s new digital output module X20DO4332-1 has integrated pulse width modulation and is a cost-effective alternative to motor modules. In addition, the module offers a dither function that prevents valves from sticking. Pulse width modulation (PWM) is mainly used for controlling larger loads, such as motors. Instead of using electronics to regulate a continuous input voltage down to the desired motor voltage, the motor is controlled by the width of the switching pulses.

Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announces that it has developed the AQ6377 optical spectrum analyzer and will release it on January 16. The AQ6377 is a benchtop analyzer that employs the dispersive spectroscopy technique to measure the optical spectra of laser light in the 1.9–5.5 μm wavelength range with high accuracy, wide dynamic range, and high resolution. The support of measurements in the 5-μm band is an industry first for instruments of this type.

The new I/O family with IP65/67 degree of protection includes five digital I/O devices as well as an IO-Link master device and offers users a whole range of new functions for modern machine concepts and requirements. In their new industrial metal enclosure, the devices are reliably protected from UV radiation and harmful substances even under adverse environmental conditions, making it possible to use the devices outside of factory buildings.
