Toshiba: Type1 Light – Standard Sequence Control Module

Toshiba: Type1 Light – Standard Sequence Control Module

The Type1 Light S CPU mounts in a standard V2000 I/O rack (3 I/O, 5 I/O or 8 I/O racks are available). It can replace a S2E module. The Type1 Light S does not support racks with station bus, or I/O modules that require a station bus. The Type1 Light S CPU has both a RS485 port and an Ethernet port which supports Toshiba’s ASCII computer link protocol. This allows connection by any HMI or SCADA software that has the Toshiba computer link driver.

ProductivityOpen Arduino-compatible Controller from AutomationDirect

ProductivityOpen Arduino-compatible Controller from AutomationDirect

The open-source ProductivityOpen platform provides all the great features of a standard Arduino plus the added power and reliability of an industrial controller. The processor circuit of the P1AM-100 Arduino-compatible CPU is designed to mimic the Arduino MKRZero microcontroller. The P1AM-100 is compatible with most available Arduino MKR format shields, and/or the industrially-hardened ProductivityOpen shields, and can utilize most Arduino sketch programs found on open-source websites.

B&R Automation: Cost-effective motor/valve control

B&R Automation: Cost-effective motor/valve control

B&R’s new digital output module X20DO4332-1 has integrated pulse width modulation and is a cost-effective alternative to motor modules. In addition, the module offers a dither function that prevents valves from sticking. Pulse width modulation (PWM) is mainly used for controlling larger loads, such as motors. Instead of using electronics to regulate a continuous input voltage down to the desired motor voltage, the motor is controlled by the width of the switching pulses.
