Schneider Electric Forecasts 50% Surge in U.S. Industry Electrification by 2030, Announces $23.8 Million Investment and 280 New Jobs in South Carolina Operations Amid Electrification Trend

Recently, Schneider Electric released a new report that projects that electrification of U.S. industry will grow from 30 percent to 45 percent by 2030, a 50 percent increase. The report, compiled by the company’s Sustainability Research Institute, also recognizes the potential for a corresponding 25 percent reduction in fossil fuel demand over the same period. The report provides detailed analysis by sector, projecting that 16 of 21 sectors will reach 60% electrification by 2030. Further, it projects that U.S. industry as a whole will reach 64% electrification by 2040 with a corresponding 50 percent reduction in fossil fuel use.

Schneider Electric Opens New Red Oak, TX Data Center Integration Facility

Schneider Electric has recently opened a new 105,000-square-foot integration facility in Red Oak, Texas that will be used to build prefabricated modular infrastructure to satisfy the growing demand for new data centers throughout the U.S. The facility’s opening will also create more than 200 jobs that are required to manufacture and ship the products from the North Texas region to locations across the U.S. Designed to build pre-engineered, prefabricated IT infrastructure, the facility will accelerate the production of integrated modular data center solutions to meet rising data center demand as the AI market grows.

Red Lion and HMS Network Join Forces

HMS Networks has finalized the acquisition of Red Lion Controls from Spectris Group Holdings Limited. The two companies are now one entity and can start working together on common go-to-market strategies and product offerings. The acquisition, which was first announced December 11, 2023, has now been approved. This means that HMS Networks now has 1200 employees in 18 countries. Most staff are stationed in the U.S., Sweden and Germany.

According to the study, titled “Digitalization Gains: Manufacturers Forge Ahead with Digital Transformation,” over the past few years U.S. manufacturers have made solid progress toward digitalizing their entire value streams, including supply chain optimization, data analytics, and product development. However, the research also underlines how this progress has been slowed by corporate digital strategies that focus on fragmented one-off high-priority pilots rather than more long-term systematic approaches.

nVent to Acquire Trachte

nVent Electric plc has recently announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the parent of Trachte, LLC for a purchase price of $695 million, subject to customary adjustments. Trachte is a manufacturer of custom-engineered control building solutions designed to protect critical infrastructure assets. nVent Chair and CEO Beth Wozniak said, “Trachte will expand our enclosures portfolio in new applications and enhance our system protection capability. It further strengthens our solutions in high-growth verticals, including power utilities, data centers and renewables.”

AD and IMARK Electrical Announce Intent to Merge

In a move that is expected to positively affect the future of independent electrical distribution, AD and IMARK Electrical announce their intent to merge. The AD Board of Directors and the IMARK Electrical Boards of Directors are pleased to jointly announce that after many months of confidential discussions and extensive due diligence, both Boards have unanimously voted to merge IMARK Electrical and AD. The transaction is subject to IMARK Electrical shareholder approval, among other things, and is expected to close later this year.

Rockwell Automation, Inc. has recently announced further collaborations with NVIDIA to supercharge the development of safer and smarter industrial AI mobile robots. Earlier this year, Rockwell announced its ongoing work with NVIDIA to increase the scale and scope of AI in manufacturing. The collaboration is now expanding to involve robotics, helping drive the use of AI in autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to improve performance and efficiency. Rockwell brings AMRs and production automation applications to industrial customers who are looking for increased efficiencies in their factories.
