Robroy Industries Announces the Hiring Of Geoff Twietmeyer as Robroy Enclosures General Manager

Robroy Industries Enclosures Division announces that it has appointed Geoff Twietmeyer as General Manager. Mr. Twietmeyer holds an MS degree in Engineering Management from Western Michigan University and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Trine University. His diverse professional experience includes service as a partner at LeaderWork, a leadership development firm; Senior VP of Engineering and Operations at Michigan Spring and Stamping, a Tier 1 automotive company; Engineering and IT Manager at Fisen Corporation, a manufacturer in the HVAC industry; and Global Director of Engineering at GHSP, a supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems for Tier 1 Automotive.

Phoenix Contact USA employees and visitors can now charge electric vehicles (EVs) at charging stations powered by the sun. The company recently held a “First Plug-In” ceremony to unveil its new EV solar carport. Up to 10 vehicles can charge at the station at a time. There are four Flo charging stations, each with two charging points. The carport also includes two Jule fast-charging stations, which can charge a vehicle in as little as 30 minutes, depending on conditions. Numerous Phoenix Contact products, including PLCnext Control, power supplies, terminal blocks, relays, and DC charging cables, were used in the installation.

Southwire Announces North American Distribution Partnership with Swiss Manufacturer Kummler+Matter

Southwire Company has recently announced a partnership agreement with Swiss manufacturer Kummler+Matter AG (K+M), a Colas Rail company, for the distribution of electrified rail system hardware and solutions designed for Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) in mass transit applications. Complementing Southwire’s extensive wire and cable catalog for OCS systems, over 400 K+M specialty components will be available directly through Southwire, bringing existing and new product solutions to U.S. transit authorities.

Rolf Hausheer to Retire From SCHURTER AG; Steffen Lindner Selected as New Managing Director

After more than 25 years at SCHURTER, the current Managing Director (MD) of SCHURTER AG, Rolf Hausheer, will retire at the end of 2024. Rolf Hausheer handed over the position of MD of SCHURTER AG to Steffen Lindner on 1 July 2024. Steffen Lindner is already acting as the General Manager & Vice President EMEA. The career of Rolf Hausheer at SCHURTER began in April 1999 as the Head of Procurement. His strategic decisions and ability to build valuable supplier relationships significantly contributed to the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement.

Bel Announces Retirement of Dennis Ackerman; Steve Dawson Appointed as President of Bel’s Power and Protection Segment

Bel Fuse Inc. has recently confirmed consistent with prior announcements that Dennis Ackerman will retire from the Company effective July 31, 2024 after 37 years of service, having served as President of Bel Power Solutions and Protection since 2014. As previously announced, Steve Dawson, who most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the Power segment, has been named to succeed Mr. Ackerman. His appointment as the new President of Bel Power Solutions and Protection is effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Ackerman joined Bel in 1986 and held the positions of Customer Service Manager, Sales Manager, Purchasing Director and Operations Director.  In 2001, he was named Vice President of Operations and in June 2014, he was named President of the Bel Power Solutions and Protection segment.

Schneider Electric Forecasts 50% Surge in U.S. Industry Electrification by 2030, Announces $23.8 Million Investment and 280 New Jobs in South Carolina Operations Amid Electrification Trend

Recently, Schneider Electric released a new report that projects that electrification of U.S. industry will grow from 30 percent to 45 percent by 2030, a 50 percent increase. The report, compiled by the company’s Sustainability Research Institute, also recognizes the potential for a corresponding 25 percent reduction in fossil fuel demand over the same period. The report provides detailed analysis by sector, projecting that 16 of 21 sectors will reach 60% electrification by 2030. Further, it projects that U.S. industry as a whole will reach 64% electrification by 2040 with a corresponding 50 percent reduction in fossil fuel use.
