The plug-and-play expansion module is designed to combine information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) with minimal installation and commissioning effort. This means that the data available at the consumer can also be used efficiently. According to Siemens, the intelligent link modules SIRIUS 3RC7 can be seamlessly integrated into the existing automation environment as part of the automation concept Totally Integrated Automation (TIA).

Rockwell Automation has recently announced that Paolo Butti has been named regional president, Global Industries, effective immediately. Butti will report to Scott Genereux, SVP and Chief Revenue Officer, and he succeeds Jane Barr, who has taken on the role of President, Americas Region. In this role, Butti will provide sales leadership and strategic direction for global account sales teams. He joined Rockwell in 2012. In his most recent role as global vice president, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Segments and Emerging Industries, he led a high performing team of Industry and OEM segment directors.

bp Extends Global Agreement With ABB as Automation, Electrical and Telecommunications Strategic Supplier for Upstream and Downstream Facilities

ABB has extended its relationship with bp through signing a five-year Global Frame Agreement (GFA) to supply automation, electrical and telecommunications equipment across bp’s upstream and downstream assets and facilities. The partnership, with ABB as a supplier, aims to streamline system integration, reducing risk, cost and project execution time. As part of the scope of the agreement, ABB will deliver an Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) with the ABB Ability System 800xA Distributed Control System across bp’s facilities.

Siemens and Compass Datacenters Sign Multi-Year Custom Electrical Solution Agreement, Critical to Achieving Aggressive Scaling Targets for Data Center Construction

Compass Datacenters, which designs and constructs data center campuses for some of the world’s largest technology companies, has signed a multi-year capacity agreement with Siemens to supply a custom modular medium-voltage skid solution. The solution consolidates the capabilities of multiple electrical components, including medium-voltage switchgear and transformers, into a single integrated unit which will enable Compass to build faster and at a lower total cost. The agreement guarantees delivery of up to 1,500 units over the next five years.
