A new UL-approved product enhancement from Rockwell Automation helps increase workplace safety in a variety of industries from oil and gas refining operations to food and beverage processing plants. Allen-Bradley CENTERLINE 1500 medium voltage motor control centers set a new safety standard with the new Integrated Protective Maintenance Grounding (IPMG) device.
nVent Electric plc, a global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions, and Power Resources International, Inc. recently announced a strategic alliance to provide rail and switch heating solutions to the North American transit industry. The alliance will provide solutions based on nVent RAYCHEM technology. By joining the major heating solutions and customer support of nVent with PRI’s excellence in engineering, controlling and system integration capabilities, customers will be able to fully integrate their heating systems for winter operations.
The LÜTZE wiring system product family has been expanded to include the new EMC click elements for AirSTREAM rail profiles. Like the previous click element for hat profiles, the shield clamps and spring shield clamps of the premium EMC accessories can be used. Shielded cables of all kinds from 10-50 mm can be installed safely and tidily. The EMC click elements can be clicked into the AirSTREAM rail profile or in the DIN hat profile without tools.
Due to limited raw material availability, some products may be delivered in black PBT plastic instead of their normal orange color. Technically, there is no difference in the material other than the color and the products will also carry the same approvals. At this moment, it is unclear how long the delivery constraints will last on the orange PBT plastic, but in order to maintain product availability, ifm will deliver them in black as needed.
Arieltech’s FTEC series Fan Filter and Exhaust Filter are designed to supply forced convection filtered air for enclosures and electrical panels. By using the unique filtering and cooling features, FTEC will cool down the inside of enclosures to a desired temperature to protect the electrical and electronic parts against heat.
B&R now makes it easier than ever to implement safety communication between machines and machine modules. An update to its mapp Safety software now enables programmable safety functions to be used across complex manufacturing systems with virtually no additional effort – greatly reducing the time spent implementing systemwide safety functions. To achieve Industry 4.0 functionality, modern manufacturing equipment needs to be densely interconnected.
With the development of cloud information systems and e-commerce, more data centers are being constructed around the world. Data centers must supply power continuously in order to protect, maintain, and operate servers that store important information and to provide Internet connection lines. By combining the equipment necessary to create a data center, Fuji Electric is able to offer multiple integrated services.
Secure flying leads using WAGO’s new mounting adapters for the MCS MAXI 6 and 16 PCB Connection Systems with levers. A flexible yet secure mount? It sounds contradictory, but it’s not. WAGO’s new mounting adapters for the MCS MAXI 6 and 16 PCB Connection Systems with levers prove that security and flexibility can co-exist. As industry-firsts, these mounting adapters allow flying leads with cross-sections up to 25 mm2 to be easily secured to a DIN-35 rail or panel.
Introducing the Type 12 Lay-In Wireway from Hammond Manufacturing, designed to enclose and protect electrical wiring from dirt, dust, oil and water. All sections and fittings of the wireway are completely open on each side to allow wires and cables to be placed into the wireway without ‘pulling through’. The Type-12 has UL 870 Type 1 and CSA Type 1 standards, unless marked, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529, IP54 standards.
Using an L32 B connector allows users to replace two size 16 B interfaces — saving over 40% of installation space. This makes it possible to transmit power, signals and data with fewer interfaces and fewer components. It also cuts the time required to assemble interfaces. The resulting lower weight also benefits a number of other applications, e.g. in robotics. The solution not only saves space, it also makes a contribution to lower consumption – and thus stands for sustainable product design.
A new generation of switches for touchless switching has been developed for switching without touching. Switching without contaminating the surface with potentially harmful germs, viruses or bacteria. How do these switches work and what are they capable of?
AutomationDirect has added PS-AMC motion controllers designed to work seamlessly with select Productivity PLCs to provide accurate, coordinated, plug-and-play motion control. These controllers are capable of up to 4 coordinated axes of motion per controller (PS-AMC4) with differential encoder feedback for each axis and a maximum switching frequency of 1MHz. Up to 24 general-purpose high-speed inputs and 12 general-purpose high-speed outputs are also included.
Teledyne FLIR, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), recently introduced the Neutrino SX8 mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) camera module and four additional Neutrino IS Series models designed for integrated solutions requiring HD MWIR imagery with size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP+C) constraints for commercial, industrial, defense original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and system integrators.
C&K, a major manufacturer of high-quality electromechanical switches, has recently developed a versatile sealed tactile switch which will fit a wide variety of applications across markets. The EL tactile switch combines common heights and actuation forces, to target similar products in the marketplace, while providing a longer lifecycle than competitors at 200,000 cycles.
The Q45 line of photoelectric sensors is now available in a D-cell battery version, extending its maintenance-free service interval to four years. This doubles the battery life of existing versions with smaller batteries. The Q45 sensor line is a family of wireless, self-contained units for coordinating multiple machines in part-counting, and OEE applications. Each model combines a sensor, wireless node, and an internal battery in a single device.
