The third generation of STEP POWER keeps the same footprints as the previous version, measuring just 55 millimeters deep and with widths starting at just 18 millimeters. The STEP 3 power supplies were designed primarily for the building automation industry and have EN 60355-1 certification.

In cooperation with aconno GmbH, the Schmersal Group has developed prototypes of an Industry 4.0 switch capable of wireless data transmission over distances of several kilometres for use with extended conveyor systems. The integrated wireless transmitter in the HDS series switches transmits status data for each individual switchgear unit via a common wireless mesh network to a cloud system. The prototypes are currently undergoing practical tests.

The Sinumerik One Dynamics packages are available in three different packages: One Dynamics Operate, One Dynamics 3-axis milling and One Dynamics 5-axis milling. Pepperl+Fuchs now supports the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) in its role as one of the founding members. This new association was established by the German trade associations ZVEI, VDMA, and Bitkom, along with 20 companies from the machine building and electronics industries. The aim is to increase use of Industry 4.0 through joint development of a “digital twin.” The digital twin functions as the interface for physical industrial products in the digital world within Industry 4.0 applications.
