The new Safegate Type 4 access control barrier safety light curtains provide protection in a wide range of industrial applications requiring integration of the muting functions. The muting function temporarily disables the safety function when a workpiece or conveying palette passes through the detection area of safety light curtains or safety sensors. Safegate safety curtains feature integrated muting functions with two access control (body protection) hardware or software configuration options.
Bosch Rexroth has recently launched a new e-commerce portal designed to provide the easiest access to select authorized Bosch Rexroth products, with the ability for customers to buy products with a credit card and schedule fast delivery — with same-day shipping. The BuyRexroth.com website is designed to streamline the purchase of a broad range of in-demand Rexroth components, including industrial and mobile hydraulics, linear motion technology and electric drives and controls products.
Designed to cross Mitsubishi panels, DATA MODUL now offers industrial grade displays from its partner KOE/JDI.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation recently announced its coming launch of second-generation full-SiC (silicon carbide) power modules featuring a newly developed SiC chip for industrial use.
The EMC cable entry frame EMC-KEL-DS has been metallised (galvanise coated) to create a conductive surface. The front cable grommet (KT) is used for strain relief and cable sealing on the cable jacket. The cable shield is contacted over 360° via the rear conductive grommet (EMC-KT). The EMC-KEL-DS frames match exactly the cut-out dimensions for 24-pin standard industrial connectors. Either a cut-out of 36 mm or 46 mm in height can be chosen depending on the cables being routed.
The new modular adapter system IMAS-CONNECT is a modular designed grommet system for mounting circular connectors, Keystone jacks, hose fittings, pressure compensation elements and much more. By utilising the modular adapter system, the cable entry frame becomes a hybrid system. Pre-terminated and standard cables or hoses can be routed and at the same time the system serves as an interface for connectors.
Phoenix Contact has increased the efficiency and power density of its popular STEP POWER power supplies. The third generation of STEP POWER keeps the same footprints as the previous version, measuring just 55 millimeters deep and with widths starting at just 18 millimeters. The STEP 3 power supplies were designed primarily for the building automation industry and have EN 60355-1 certification.
The new electrician’s scissors from Phoenix Contact’s Cutfox series have durable micro-serrated blades, so they can deliver high cutting performance. The new scissors are suitable for cutting copper (flexible), aluminum (flexible), glass, and Kevlar fibers, plastic, and braided shield.
ABB Jokab’s proven range of innovative safety sensors can now be used directly with B&R’s integrated safety technology. The ABB portfolio includes a complete set of gate closures, light curtains and safety mats. The broad selection will make it easier than ever to implement safety concepts. Safety products from ABB Jokab are simply wired to B&R’s safe I/O modules. Both B&R safety technology and the ABB safety portfolio satisfy the requirements of ISO 13849-1 up to PL e / Cat. 4.
Networked automation with cloud computing: The efficient use of cloud services is increasingly developing into a decisive competitive factor in the industrial environment. The EK9160 IoT Bus Coupler establishes a direct connection between EtherCAT I/Os from Beckhoff and the Internet of Things (IoT) without any special control program. The coupler thus offers the simple and standardized integration of I/O data into cloud-based communication and data services.
Phoenix Contact’s industrial case system (ICS) encloses OEM designs in traditional and emerging industrial applications that require control, monitoring, conditioning, regulation, conversion, and other important functionality. The integrated connectivity in this ICS includes Phoenix Contact’s standard PCB mount and through-panel connectors, as well as other standard connections such as RJ45, DSUB, USB, and antennas.
Unlock the data of your machines to enable remote monitoring, predictive maintenance and other value-added services. Gather data from PLCs, sensors and other devices thanks to the support of a wide range of industrial protocols, including OPC UA. In a few clicks, enable alarm notifications or performance monitoring through cloud KPIs dashboards. You might not have a data application today. But when the time comes, be confident in the fact that you can connect to a local or cloud data solution and make your machine smarter.
In cooperation with aconno GmbH, the Schmersal Group has developed prototypes of an Industry 4.0 switch capable of wireless data transmission over distances of several kilometres for use with extended conveyor systems. The integrated wireless transmitter in the HDS series switches transmits status data for each individual switchgear unit via a common wireless mesh network to a cloud system. The prototypes are currently undergoing practical tests.
With the software version NCU-SW 6.14, Siemens is launching three powerful technology packages exclusively for the CNC Sinumerik One. The Sinumerik One Dynamics packages are available in three different packages: One Dynamics Operate, One Dynamics 3-axis milling and One Dynamics 5-axis milling. The software functions contained in the technology packages support users from machine-oriented programming in the jobshop to high-performance machining of CAD-CAM-programmed workpieces with high surface quality.
Unplanned machine downtime is a hude geadache for the business sector, especially as ongoing problems – aging infrastructure, skilled worker shortage, and recent societal disruptions – continue to drive up operational cost by reducing machine availability. To combat this, manufacturers are looking for solutions that go beyond standard preventive maintenance.
