Easily distribute I/O from a homerun cable with Banner’s new R95 I/O Junction Block. Field devices such as sensors, valves, and lights can be connected to one of eight M12 connectors. Power, ground, and shield are provided to each, while the I/O signals on pins 2 and 4 are connected to their own unique pin on the M23 connector or flying-lead cable exiting the block. This allows users to terminate power, ground, and shield in their control panel along with each I/O point, saving them from making complex wiring junctions or building their own boxes.

Recently, Emerson announced the release of the Rosemount 802 Wireless Multi-Discrete Input or Output Transmitter, which has eight discrete input/output (I/O) channels, each one configurable as an input or an output. WirelessHART capability allows the transmitter to connect to a wireless gateway, which can in turn link to a host—such as a control system or asset management system—via a wired connection. This allows the host to monitor and control assets remotely over a WirelessHART network.
