As of mid-October in 2020, Allied Moulded Products, Inc. had expanded its line of premium enclosure accessories with two additional size HMI cover kits AMHMI86 (8″ x 6″) and AMHMI66 (6” x 6”). HMI cover kits are designed to provide protection for instruments or electronics requiring routine attention or detail. The cover kit features a strong and rigid design, mounting securely to the outside (flat surface) of any enclosure, and makes accessibility to electronic components easy.
Display Technology is advancing at a remarkable pace. LCD, LED, OLED, AMOLED, and touch screen layers can be characterized with Bristol Instruments non-contact thickness gauges with sub-micron accuracy. Measurement results shown in table below are of a touch display used in a smart device, displayed in Bristol’s Opti-Cal software. The first few layers are identified in the table.

The integrated red/green LED can indicate three signal statuses. The translucent indicator is a neutral white in standby mode, green indicates regular operating condition, and red signals faults.
SerieFLAT MG-TPMF tags are used for marking cables, conduit, tubes, conductors and components. Presented in stem format, tags are simply snapped off their stems and inserted into the appropriate holders. Consult Cembre for other colours. Compliance is checked by inspection and by rubbing the marking by hand for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with hexane.
With the motor starters of the MOTUS C14 series from Wöhner, short circuits become less scary. If an error occurs, the electronics switch off the motor within a maximum of 10 microseconds. This means that the MOTUS C14 reacts faster than any fuse and this with a low I2t value. By comparison, the reaction time of a conventional fuse-link is about 2,000 microseconds. With a circuit breaker, the switch-off time in case of a fault is even 5,000 microseconds.

The safe sensorless standstill monitor UG 6946 from the SAFEMASTER S series detects the standstill of 3-phase and 1-phase motors independent of the direction of rotation. This means sensors such as encoders or proximity switches are not required. Access to the danger zone of a system is only possible by the enabling signal of the standstill monitor after the drive has been switched off and run down.
TE Connectivity has launched its Raychem smart RSTI-VS separable connector with voltage sensor, which can be used for grid monitoring and advanced earth fault and short circuit detection in IEC markets. Together with grid monitoring devices such as Kries’ IKI-50, distribution network operators can deploy condition monitoring, advanced fault detection and failure prediction in their networks.
