OKW has added a special new machining service for LED backlighting to its enclosure customization options – enabling electronics designers to overcome the ingress protection issues associated with fitting LEDs and/or light pipes to a housing’s front panel. This smart new solution offers designers the opportunity to add extra visual cachet to their devices. It…
Industrial applications such as professional food equipment, medical equipment, and renewable energy systems require devices with smaller footprints. Solid state relays (SSR) provide the advantages of long service life expectancy, no contact bounce or arching, zero-crossing capability, low power input, and high resistance to shock and vibration. In addition, PCB mount solid state relays provide space savings and have specific power requirements.
Phoenix Contact’s expanded BC modular housing series gives building automation engineers more design flexibility. The family now includes new enclosures with Push-in connection and upper housings in more widths. For the first time, Push-in PCB terminal blocks are available for the BC 17,8 (1 HP). The FKDSO 1,5 and FKDSO 2,5 terminal blocks make it possible to implement future-proof applications with up to 16 positions per module. The coordinated housing and connection system reduces design time for developers. The 3.5- and 5-mm pitch terminal blocks are designed for currents up to 22 A. They come in three and four positions and can easily be combined in a single upper part.
Phoenix Contact’s new zero-cut block optimizes tedious measuring when aligning perforation holes in DIN rail. The accessory to the DIN rail cutters enables quick, repeatable cuts, reducing errors and waste and saving time. An adjustable slide makes it easy to set zero-cut conditions for a fast, efficient cutting process. The adapter is designed for perforated DIN rail types NS 35/7,5, NS 35/15, and NS 15.
Building engineers can simplify room automation projects in hospitals, data centers, and commercial buildings with the new Catan controller family from Phoenix Contact. Catan is programmed with Phoenix Contact’s Emalytics software based on the Niagara 4 framework. This makes it easy to integrate with new and existing building management systems using communications protocols such as BACnet, KNX, Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, and more.
Schneider Electric announces the launch of the SpaceLogic Touchscreen Room Controller, an all-in-one device that leverages modern technology and seamlessly merges an innovative user interface with advanced functionality, setting a new standard for energy management and room control in buildings. Building owners and facility managers in both new and retrofit projects are under increasing pressure to meet regulatory requirements and reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions—all while ensuring occupant comfort and well-being.
PFlow Industries highlights the D Series Hydraulic Vertical Lift, a robust solution for material handling challenges. Designed to handle loads up to 3,000 pounds with ease, the D Series is ideal for commercial building applications. Its space saving design and ease of use make it perfect for commercial spaces and industries that need to move supplies, records, and other goods.
OKW’s advanced STAR-KNOBS for menu-driven electronics are now available in flush-fitting and surface-mount versions. These ergonomic collet knobs fit rotary potentiometers or rotary pulse generators with round shaft ends (DIN 41591). They are ideal for measuring and control, healthcare, HVAC, communications, building management and Smart Factory technology.
Leviton recently announced the launch of its first-ever 400 Amp Meter Main Load Center, along with a 300 Amp model. This innovative addition to Leviton’s product line is designed to meet the growing demand for larger electrical service in large-scale residential applications, highly electrified homes, and future-proofing installations. AutomationDirect has added the RHINO PSE-S series power supplies which are fully encapsulated in ultra-compact, low-profile housings and ideal for space-limited applications. These cost-effective power supplies offer a wide input voltage range, up to 89% efficiency, and are available in 5, 12, 15, and 24 VDC output voltage options with up to 4.1A/50W. Select models are NEC Class 2 compliant.
Leviton recently announced the launch of new extended distance capabilities for the ATLAS-X1 SST MILLENNIUM System. Leviton’s Systems Verification Lab (SVL) invested thousands of hours putting the MILLENNIUM ATLAS-X1 SST system through its paces with rigorous testing, including both thermal cycling and bit error rate testing. As a result of this extensive testing, Leviton is announcing that this premier global Cat 6A UTP structured cabling system now supports longer, warrantied four (4) connector channel distances, thermal cycled to 60° C (140° F) with 1000BASE-T and Type 1 PoE out to 155 meters (508 feet).
wo years ago, SCHURTER launched the innovative MSS electronic switch. The response was outstanding. Compact, ultra-rugged, reliable. In response to numerous customer requests, SCHURTER then subjected the switch to the time-consuming and cost-intensive test for the highest protection class IP6K9K. The result: passed with flying colors. It is not quite common, but sometimes customers see in a new SCHURTER product exactly the long-awaited potential that they so urgently need.
RS now offers MEAN WELL’s energy-saving VFD Series variable frequency motor drive modules. The VFD Series was inspired by an International Energy Agency (IEA) report that revealed electric motors and the systems they drive as the single-largest end-users of electricity — accounting for a staggering 43–46% of global electricity consumption that’s overwhelmingly driven by industrial (64%) and commercial (20%) market segments — and stated that cost-effective efficiency improvements could reduce this sum by around 25% and, in turn, global electricity demand by about 10%.
