Jonard Tools’ new Advanced Optical Fiber Identifier w/ Power Meter & VFL (OFI-100) is a complete 3-in-1 tool for fiber technicians.
The Optical Fiber Identifier is designed to quickly detect the direction of light being transmitted inside fiber optic cables and displays the relative core power without damaging the fiber. This fiber identifier is perfect for working on fiber optic cables in network systems without having to disrupt the network. Another unique benefit the Jonard Optical Fiber Identifiers provides is that it features a reversible adapter. One side is for 2 mm and 3 mm fiber optic cables, and the opposite side is used for 250 µm and 900µm fiber optic cables.
The OFI-100 efficiently identifies the traffic direction and frequency (270Hz, 1KHz, 2KHz) with an audible warning. The device also features a bright LCD screen that can be dimmed or brightened to suit the environment and clearly displays the relative core power measurement, signal direction, and battery life.
The OFI-100 has a built-in power meter, along its side, that can be used to measure power using 850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625 nm wavelengths, and a VFL (visual fault locator) built into the other side of the device to pin-point problem areas along the length of the cable.
To protect the OFI-100 from accidental drops, it comes with a protective rubber, non-slip sleeve.
