EdgeEnergy will feature the EdgeEV70 single phase power source for Direct Current Fast Chargers in Electrification 2022 Booth #1522. The innovative EdgeEV70 allows for DC fast chargers to be deployed in areas without three-phase power faster and at a lower cost than infrastructure upgrades. And unlike products that are dependent on battery storage it provides on-demand, continuous charging availability 24/7. Ideal for remote areas or those without access to three-phase power, the fully self-contained, plug-n-play EdgeEV70 delivers clean, quiet power to DC fast chargers. It can be delivered in just a few weeks and installed in just a few hours. The EdgeEV70 operates from readily available single-phase utility service to produce clean, stable, isolated, three-phase output for any DC rapid charger. Power output of 480V AC, three-phase, 70 kW is ideally suited for rapid chargers up to 70 kW. Each power source has an efficiency of 90%, is 100% electrically isolated, with 0 harmonics to comply with IEEE 519 requirements, and has a 1.0 power factor rating at full load. The power source is housed in a weather tight enclosure with an integrated temperature control system. Remote system monitoring, diagnostic, proactive maintenance is standard, allowing the EdgeEV70 to be used in remote areas where three-phase power is not available or cost-prohibitive to install. Rapid EV charging is desired in locations such as state and national parks, recreational areas, tourist locations, and more, to alleviate the range anxiety of EV owners, support local economies, and encourage EV adoption.
Since it does not rely on battery or solar panels, the EdgeEV70 delivers on-demand power to the charger with no waiting time, and no risk of depleting the battery. This continuous power improves the customer experience.
The EdgeEV70 uses patented technology to provide isolated and balanced 3-phase power in ratings to 70 kW. Built with rural applications in mind, the EV70 rides through momentary power loss and can accommodate voltage fluctuation in single-phase lines +/- 10% while delivering solid three-phase power. The EdgeEV70 supports efforts to extend charging networks into areas without 3-phase power at lower cost.
Built-in monitoring and alert systems make remote management of the EdgeEV70 easy. EdgeEnergy allows owners to customize their management dashboard to meet their specific requirements, including custom alerts and remote restart and security features.
EdgeEnergy was created with a vision for a greener and more sustainable power infrastructure. Their products use patented large horsepower single-phase motor technology to deliver isolated and balanced three-phase power in ratings to 70 kW for Level-3 rapid charging stations.
