Dr.-Ing. Börne Rensing Appointed New CEO at Wieland Electric

The Bamberg-based Wieland Electric GmbH has appointed Dr.-Ing. Börne Rensing as its new CEO. As technical CEO, Dr. Rensing will focus on the areas of development and production and will manage the company’s fortunes together with Bernd P. Uckrow.

With over 20 years of industrial professional experience in management positions, Börne Rensing brings practical experience in the areas of development, production and sales.

He graduated in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where he also received his doctorate in 2004. Since the early 2000s, he has held several management positions: as a corporate consultant and project manager with well-known German automotive OEMs, as a division manager in a medium-sized electric drive technology company, as a production division manager at HILTI, and as a managing director focusing on technology and sales in a family-run mechanical engineering business.

Beckhoff introduced the EtherCAT real-time Ethernet system to the market in 2003 and disclosed its details within the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) the same year. The ultra-fast communication system has taken the automation world by storm ever since, says Thomas Rettig, Senior Manager of Control Systems and Communication Architecture at Beckhoff – a fact that was underscored further when the ETG issued its 3,000th EtherCAT vendor ID in July 2020.

Allied Electronics & Automation has named Mike Walker as vice president and global leader of its sales team.  Walker, who will be based in Fort Worth, joins Allied from Lennox International, where he spent more than 18 years in progressively senior sales, marketing and product management roles, most recently as the Vice President of Sales. He will lead a recently expanded sales team of more than 450 serving the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Chile.
