Phoenix Contact: Flexible and Efficient Power Supplies

October 20, 2020

Phoenix Contact has increased the efficiency and power density of its popular STEP POWER power supplies. The third generation of STEP POWER keeps the same footprints as the previous version, measuring just 55 millimeters deep and with widths starting at just 18 millimeters.

The STEP 3 power supplies were designed primarily for the building automation industry and have EN 60355-1 certification. Nearly any application within a building – building control systems, lighting, heating, cooling, fan control, and many more – may require this approval. The STEP 3 also is also listed to UL 61010 and has Class I, Division 2 approval, so it’s also suitable for oil and gas, water/wastewater, and many other industrial applications.

The STEP 3 power supplies can accept either an AC or DC input, so they can adapt to a variety of applications. The wide output range lets users adjust to their specific needs. For example, in an application that requires a long wire between the power supply and the load, a customer can adjust the output voltage to compensate for the voltage drop within the wires. They are also available in Phoenix Contact’s popular Push-in Technology for easy wiring.
