AutomationDirect: ProSense Advanced Process Controllers

Made exclusively for AutomationDirect by Yokogawa, the ProSense PPC5 series of Advanced Process Controllers has the features, functionality, and performance to handle temperature, pressure, level, flow, and other process variable control applications. These controllers accept inputs directly from thermocouples or RTDs and analog signals from most any type of process variable sensor/transmitter.

  •  –   Models are available with an additional analog input for remote setpoint and up to 4 contact inputs that can be selected to perform up to 17 functions.
  •  –   The control output is user selected to be a relay, voltage pulse, or linear current output. An analog retransmission output is selectable to represent the PV, SP, target SP, remote SP, or output signal.
  •  –   Three alarm contact outputs can be configured for 30 alarm types and 10 alarm functions.
  •  –   The PPC5 series can be ordered with RS-485 Modbus ASCII/RTU, or with Ethernet+RS-485 gateway Modbus TCP/IP communications.

Yokogawa Releases CENTUM VP R6.07.10 Integrated Production Control System

Yokogawa Electric Corporation recently announced the September 18 release of CENTUM VP R6.07.10, an enhanced version of the CENTUM VP integrated production control system. CENTUM VP is a core product of the OpreX Control and Safety System family of solutions. Yokogawa has enhanced CENTUM VP R6.07.10 through the introduction of a unified alarms and conditions server (UACS) that ensures safe and secure operations, even with large-scale systems.

AutomationDirect: More ReeR MOSAIC Safety Controller Options

AutomationDirect has added more options to the ReeR MOSAIC safety controller family. The MOSAIC-M1S-USBC has all the features of the enhanced MOSAIC-M1S master controller module, including embedded digital inputs, OSSD outputs, and expansion capabilities, but also offers a USB-C programming port. The new ReeR MOSAIC MZERO controllers are simple standalone safety controllers that have plenty of fixed I/O but do not support expansion I/O. They are ideal for small systems with fewer safety devices. Also available is a proprietary memory card for use with these controllers.

AutomationDirect: LS Electric 2-axis and Relay Output XGB PLC Models

AutomationDirect has released three new LS Electric XGB PLC models that provide advanced control at an even lower cost. Two 16-point 2-axis motion PLC units and a 14-point relay output model are now available. The 2-axis PLC versions support pulse/direction control from the embedded I/O, featuring 4 high-speed inputs and 2 high-speed outputs, as well as EtherCAT motion using EtherCAT expansion modules.  The new relay output PLC provides 8 inputs, 4 offering high-speed capability, and 6 relay outputs supporting up to 2A per point. This PLC version can also support EtherCAT motion using the optional EtherCAT expansion modules.

ABB: ReliaGear LV MCC Enhanced Technology

ABB recently announced enhancements to their flagship ReliaGear LV MCC low voltage motor control center. In addition to ACS580 variable frequency drives, ReliaGear LV MCC is now available with PSTx softstarters up to 500 HP, motor starters with SACE Tmax XT motor circuit protectors, and UMC100.3 relays. All are compatible with a wide range of fieldbus protocols and offer the option for retractable stab arc flash mitigation (AFM) units.
