Pro-face America Launches Harsh Environment HMI Series

Pro-face SP5000X eXtreme HMI Series

 

An addition to the Pro-face family, the SP5000X eXtreme HMI Series from Pro-face America provides a solution to the automation industry’s long time need for HMIs that can be used in extreme and hazardous conditions, including outdoor applications.

Combine the 7”, or 12” SP5000X wide sunlight readable display made with an aluminum die-cast, stainless steel bezel, with the SP5B90X box unit to create an overall eXtreme solution. This combination offers operating temperatures ranging from -30ºC to 70ºC, a high brightness liquid crystal panel displaying screens at 1000 nits, and a UL 50E Type 4X outdoor use rating. The SP5000X series is suitable for multiple applications under harsh environmental conditions (3C3), including use in vehicles such as fire trucks, trains, and construction equipment; parking lots and gas stations; and the oil and gas industry. Connect a J1939 communication module to Engine Control Units (ECU) to monitor and control electric generators, highway trucks, agriculture machines, and construction machines.

“With sunlight readable displays, UV protection with UL 50E Type 4x NEMA rating, conformal coating, and vibration/shock resistance more than twice that of the competition, this outdoor rated, rugged HMI is ready to provide data collection and remote maintenance solutions for eXtreme applications,” said George Caudle, Pro-face America Offer Manager.

Quabbin multiconductor cable with twisted triads has been added to AutomationDirect’s current offering of instrumentation cable. These 300V UL cables with 18 or 20 AWG wire sizes are offered as 1, 2, 4 or 8 overall shielded triads, or individually shielded 2, 4, or 8-twisted triads with an overall shield. The overall shielded cables have an aluminum/polyester foil shield with 100% coverage and a tinned copper continuous drain wire for protection against external electrical noise interference.

CUI Devices’ Motion & Control Group recently announced the introduction of a new rotary potentiometer series offering single or dual gang models as well as dual gang options with an on-off switch. The PTN16 series is housed in a 16.5 mm package with shaft lengths of 15, 20, 25, or 30 mm and D-cut or knurled shaft styles.
