Grace Showcases Safe-Test Point PESD at Rockwell Automation Fair
November 20, 2019
Indicating the presence and absence of voltage, the Safe-Test PointTM from Grace Engineered Products allows workers to a safer way to perform Absence of Voltage Test (AVT) from outside the electrical cabinet. By following proper safety procedures, the risks of arc flash or shock hazard is reduced. The Safe-Test Point provides a safer and more productive method of performing lockout/tagout (LOTO), while exceeding NFPA 70E and meeting OHSA energy isolation principle.
The voltage values will read with a percentage of error that varies depending on the ratings and series of the multimeter. For example, when measuring voltage on 480VAC system Phase L1 to Phase L2, the 10MΩ multimeter voltage value will have a -2% reduction reading approximately 470V.
The Safe-Test Point contains four test point jacks that are hardwired directly to energy sources and allows measurement of both AC and DC voltages by inserting the insulated meter probes into any two test point jacks to take a voltage reading.
A Safe-Test Point can be mounted on the side of an enclosure, door, or flange. By inserting insulated meter probes with .080” tips into any two test point jacks, you can take a voltage reading with properly rated test equipment.
